Small, elongated, slender and very hot chilies with a distinctive ginger-like taste. Colour changes from intense green to red when fully ripe. Ranges between 20,000 and 30,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
Contains no cholesterol or saturated fats, low in calories, and high in fibre. Provides more vitamin A than virtually any other food plant, along with an excellent source of vitamin C and B vitamins.
Significant source of iron, thiamine, niacin, magnesium, and riboflavin. Also known to increase the metabolic rate.
